Bridget Czarnota was raised in Northamptonshire, in the tiny village of Blatherwycke, then in Weldon and for nearly two decades taught Modern Languages at Tresham College in Kettering. Then she retrained as a lawyer and after three years teaching at the University of Westminster spent the next two decades working as a lawyer for the European Commission in Brussels.

She has no formal training as an artist and describes herself as a permanent beginner. She took up painting very late in life but has tried many different styles and media including oils, acrylic and gouache. Her main interests are painting landscapes, seascapes and the occasional cartoon.

Her work is always drawn from memory, or imagination and she has no interest in producing “commercial”works… her paintings are done entirely for relaxation and personal pleasure.
