Our Mission

Rooftop Arts Centre exists to make art accessible and foster creativity within the local community, setting itself apart with its dedication to both local talent and global art connections. Founded in 2012 in Corby, Northamptonshire, the centre started with a vision to support local artists and engage residents through exhibitions, workshops, and community projects. From its early days at Chisholm House to its current home at New Post Office Square, it has evolved into a cultural hub for all ages and abilities.

With initiatives like regular painting and drawing classes launched in 2015, the centre has become a space for learning, inclusivity, and creative growth, hosting over 100 workshops annually and engaging hundreds of participants of all ages. Signature events such as the Steel Nerve exhibitions and the Rooftop Open Exhibition highlight its commitment to celebrating both local talent and global art trends. For instance, the Steel Nerve exhibition drew record crowds, showcasing works by Banksy and other iconic street artists, while the Rooftop Open Exhibition provided emerging creatives with invaluable exposure and community acclaim.

Through its versatile facilities and dynamic programming, Rooftop Arts Centre continues to inspire and connect people through the transformative power of art.

Today, Rooftop Arts Centre remains a vibrant hub where art and community thrive together, celebrated for its transformative exhibitions like Steel Nerve, its support for local artists, and its dedication to creative education and inclusivity.
