Preparing and delivering your artwork

What can I submit?

  • For 2D works each artist can submit up to 3 pieces of work measuring up to a maximum of 1 meter along the longest edge including the frame.
  • 2D works must be framed and ready for display, please ensure you have either mirror plates or picture cord attached to your work. Work that is unfinished, wet, or not prepared for display will not be accepted.
  • For 3D works each artist can submit up to 3 pieces of work with a base measuring up to 50 cm square and no taller than 1 meter. For larger sculptural works please get in touch to discuss. We have some plinths available and you are more than welcome to supply your own.
  • For new media such as video, audio, digital, performance, and installation, please get in touch to discuss this with us so that we can asses your needs for displaying the work.
  • All artworks must comply with our guidelines in our display terms and conditions and be suitable for our family friendly audience.
  • Each artwork must be clearly identified on the back with your name, title of the work, and a contact number.
  • Each artwork must have a label attached to it which is provided in your application. This can be done with a piece of string and staples or tape so that it can hang over the front of the work. This allows us to complete the exhibition catalog and labelling.

  • Curation and installation is completed by gallery staff and all decisions are final. This process will depend upon the number of submissions to the exhibition.
  • Areas of the gallery cannot be reserved in advance and we do our best to ensure equal attention is given to all works on display. Images of work may be used for promotional purposes.

The entry is payable before work is submitted and displayed applications and submissions without payment will not be displayed. Works for sale are subject to 20% commission due to the Rooftop Arts Centre. Please factor this into your pricing when selecting work for the exhibition. Any sales payments will be made to the artist at the end of the show. Payment for any work sold during the exhibition must be handled by the Rooftop Arts Centre.
