Last Chance to See the Mural Artist at Work
Local artist Gary Carroll will be putting the final touches on the large outdoor mural he has been painting over the last few weeks on the side of the Rooftop Arts building. The final details and colouring highlights will be added over the next few days to complete the work. It has taken shape really well and has attracted a lot of attention and positive comments.
Numerous people have stopped by to admire the work and Gary, being well known in Corby, has met some old friends he has not seen in a while and renewed these friendships.
Dinah Kazakoff, the Rooftop Arts Gallery Director commented, “art has a way of bringing the community together and Gary’s work is a good example of that, the mural speaks to Corby’s industrial past and has also attracted the attention and admiration of the town’s youth as well”.
At 8ft x 10ft this is one of the largest paintings the artist has done and his work has attracted 3 potential commissions from local business owners who would like to discuss similar size works at their businesses.
If you would like to see the final stages of his work, Gary will be outside completing his painting during the Rooftop Arts open hours from 11am to 4pm.
