HOW WE GOT HERE.
It all started in 2022 with a trip to New York City, where a liking for art became a love story and inspiration became a determination to do something with colour and paint. At that point it was just a recurring fever dream…
Literally days before boarding a plane to Paris in 2023, I committed colour to canvas and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. Even as I was enjoying some of the greatest works ever painted at The Pompidou Centre, I couldn’t wait to return to the dining room which had become a makeshift studio, to get started, properly.
So far, I haven’t stopped…
I have certainly shifted and I have returned. Not only have I learnt a great deal about art but more importantly, I have learnt that what I am capable of, is beyond anything I thought possible. This exhibition is basically the beginning. The positive outcome of an obsession. An overwhelming wish to capture the fleeting wonder and joy of it all. Filled with exhilaration and fueled by hope.
